While the senate skidded bridge appropriation ! bills through to the governor and abol-j abol-j ished commissions today, the house spent its time killing off aspiring county coun-ty division measures and debating iu ; committee of the whole, enjoying its i own oratory. These developments, to-', gether with the passage of the Anderson Ander-son act to abolish the state tax commission, com-mission, passage of thn Clark bill to abolish the several state offices of water wa-ter commissioner, the calling off of the tight on the public utilities commission through failure to reconsider the vote taken on the Thomas bill, and veto of the anticommission government act made tho session an interesting one. The Kamas county division bill went down to defeat during the morning session ses-sion of the house. It was by Evans of Lincoln county, and sought to divide Blaine county by submitting the question, ques-tion, of division at an election. The house killed the measure by a vote of 31 to 20. During the afternoon session Payette county, seeking to be created out of Canyon county, met the same late aDd was voted out of existence on a roll call of 32 to 19. By taking the Butte county division bill from their reading and "sending it to committee of the whole for amendment, this act was saved from the slaughter. Governor Alexander vetoed house bill No. 118, tho anticommission government govern-ment act, fathered by the "commonwealth" "common-wealth" Ada county, delegation, and seeking to precipitate Boise into a bitter municipal light next spring, by trying to repeal the Black commission form of government under which Boise is now acting, having adopted it three years ago in place of a charter. The veto message, a long one, was read and laid on the table.
