Show POLICY OF UNITED STATES UNDECIDED United States Postpones Decision on Question of Japanese Encroachments on Flowery Kingdom. TVASBXN'GTON, Feb. 20. In view of the pressure of" the European situation, the United States has postponed for a few days a decision on what its policy should "be in connection with the negotiations ne-gotiations between Japan and China. Thus far, it was stated today authoritatively, au-thoritatively, no representations or notes havo been sent by the United States or Japan or China'or any of the interested powers, although Embassador Guthrie at Tokio and Minister Reinscn at Pekiu, have been advised of the differences dif-ferences between Japan's memorandum of its demands on China, as given to Great Britain, France, Russia and the United States and tho version given to the same powers by the Chinese foreign office. Officials here are deeply interested in tho situation and are eager for more information, but it was said that the negotiations would probably be long ancl would afford an opportunity for close examination lator, whilo at the present moment, the situation in Europe Eu-rope demanded their attention almost entirely. |
