Show CONGRESS ASKED TO PAY HATTERS' FINES WASinNG-TOX, Feb. 20. Alton B. Parker, Samuel Gompers and Frank Morrison, all representing tho American Federation of Labor, asked the house appropriations committee, at an executive ex-ecutive session today, to recommend a eongrepsional appropriation of $290,-000 $290,-000 to pay the Sherman law judgment against the Panbnry hatters, recently affirmed bv the supreme court. Thev argued congress nevor intended the antitrust laws should apply to labor unions, and pointed out that tho Clayton Clay-ton bill exempts them. |
