Show KLONDYKE STRIKE ! BEING EXPLORED Oro Extending Crosscut on 800-foot Level to Encounter Encoun-ter Quartz Body. Highly encouraging results are attending at-tending the exploration of the strike recently made on the property in the Klondyke district, midway between Goldfield and Tonopah, says the Gold-field Gold-field Daily Tribune. The property is owned bv J. 1 Henrv, ilichaei Hill, John Witte and ben Rosenthal, all ol Goldfield, who intend to thoroughly develop de-velop it. The abaft being sunk on tho property has attained a depth of eighteen reel and has an excellent showing, in addition ad-dition to considerable vein matter, the ledge shows a width of two feet of ore that averages $104 per ton in gold and silver, the latter predominating. predominat-ing. Considerable ore has been extracted extract-ed and sacked for shipment. Picked samples of the ore show large pieces 1 of tree gold, which are found in ' bug- holes" Si the quartz. The ledge trends north and south and lies almost flat, dipping slightly to the east. On the SUO-foot level of the Goldfield Oro a crosscut is being extended from the main drift to catch the downward extension of a body of twelve feet ot quartz recently revealed by a raise from an intermediate level at a point thirty-five feet north of the shaft. The south drift on the SOO-foot level has been extended a total distance of nine-tv nine-tv feet. Kecentlv the drift was turned slightly to. the east and it revealed a body o"f quartz. It has been found that 1 the "drift has been passing along intermediately inter-mediately beneath the quartz body for a distance of forty feet. After the drift has been advanced a short distance dis-tance further a raise will be started to explore the quartz bodv, it is stated. On the 700-foot level erosscutting west and drifting south continues. According to General Manager Charles D. "Wilkinson, tho Yellow Tiger Mining company will be in a position to resume underground operations on a large scale within the next few days. Tho 100-horsepower electric motor, which will drive the eight-drill air compressor, com-pressor, has arrived on the ground from Denver. Colo., where it was purchased, and it is now being placed in position. The new motor replaces the one of like capacity damaged by the tiro of supposed incendiary origin that also destroyed de-stroyed all the buildings on the property prop-erty about three months ago. The work of 'constructing new buildings was completed com-pleted several weeks ago. since which time operations on a small scale have been prosecuted with hand steel on the 700-foot level of the property. As soon as the new motor is completely installed - and the compressor again placed in commission, machine drills will be used in the extension of the north drift on " the vein on tho 700-foot level. Manager Man-ager "Wilkinson announces that he will soon begin sinking a winze below the south drift on the level named and a raise from the noTth drift to connect with the 600-foot level- |
