Show BOY SAYS BROTHER HAS DESERTED HIM Waif of the Streets Tells Unusual Story to Juvenile Officer, Who Takes Up Case. E-escued from a couch of refuse in a livery bara, Lester Slayover, 11 years of age, last nigEt told a story to Juvenile Officer Georgo Robinson of desertion of an older brother. Young Slayover, according to his story, came to Salt Lake a few days ago on his way from Spokane back to nis home in Hillsboro, Kans. He explained that he had gone to Spokane to work on a farm, but had been disappointed and was returning home in company with his brother, 25 years of age. Arrived Ar-rived here, they found themselves out of funds. The older brother went to work for a local contractor and the boy sold papers. In the meantime, thev had sent home for money. 'hen the money, $36, arrived, according ac-cording to the bovs story, the older brother took it anil disappeared. Selling Sell-ing papers in the daytime and sleeping in the livery barn at night, the hoy managed to subsist until he was discovered dis-covered by Juvenile Officer Robinson who took him home last night and telegraphed to his parents. |
