The capitol commission took no action on the bids yesterday, but decided to wait until next Thursday morning, when they will again be considered. Most of yesterday's meeting was spent in listening listen-ing to representatives of the bidding ; companies explain their designs and plans. Members of the commission say that all the plans are beautiful, but that the cheaper bids call for somewhat less elaborate decorations. The rooms to be decorated are the rotunda, ro-tunda, senate chamber, house of representatives repre-sentatives chamber, governor's reception room, supreme court room and the governor's gov-ernor's suite. The decorations will include in-clude gilding of the column capitols and other decorative pieces, tinting of walls, colored glass for skylights, decorations for windows, draperies, curtains and hangings and probably mural paintings for tlie walls. |
