Show ira Tunc is PROMISING FIELD Believed by Many as Good , as Best Portion of the District. Special to The Tribune. EUREKA. April 24. Preparations are being mado on a large scale for the development de-velopment of the Scranton-Lohl property, adjoining the Scranton mine and lying on the big Scranton vein. Jt Is located about six miles north of Eureka and promises to become qb large a producer as tho Scrunton. At the present time many leasers are operating underground workings of the Gemini property, developing the ground from tho -100 level to tho water level, a distance of 1600 foot, opening up a largo amount of new ore, and making more than bread noncy. Superintendent John ll McChrystal Is highly pleased with the development de-velopment work dono by tho leasers, which shows that this mine Is only In Us Infancy and, with the Rldgo and Valley property to the north, which has not as vet boon developed, will prove In the near future to far surpass the previous output of the Gemini mine. Took Optimistic View. Years ago, when tho late J. C. Sullivan took the superintendence of the Raymond-Illinois property and stink a shaft to a distance of 1200 feet, he prophesied the north end of Tlntlc district would produce the llncat ore In tho district with proper developmont work, that richer mining claims lay undiscovered than were ever known In tho history of Tlntlc and that all that was needed was capital to mako North Tlntlc and the whole of tho Tlntlc district tho greatest mining camp In the United States. For years and years assessments have been levied on tho stockholders of the Emerald mine, near Robinson, and with persistent perseverance Superintendent Oglosby and his small force of men have carried on energetic work In this property, prop-erty, for the reason that they know they will ultimately reach their goal. This property Joins the Grand Central, and from indications shown during the past few weeks tho hopes of tho company are about to be realized, as all Indications point to tho fact that they aro ncarlng the main ore body. W. H Moeller, superintendent of the Dagmar property In North Tlntlc. reports the property to be In line condition, and will keen up active development work during the coming year. Tho showing made In tho past year Is highly satisfactory satis-factory to tho Investors, and tho future Is of great promise. Tintic Humboldt Drifting. At the Tintic Humboldt property in North Tlntlo, Superintendent John Taylor Tay-lor Is pushing two drifts from tho bottom bot-tom of a shaft clghty-flvc feet In depth. Tho drift to tho south Is well mln'eral-Ized mln'eral-Ized and Is cutting a manganese-quartz formation. In which. In addition to Iron, tho quartz carries silver and lead, and the drift to tho north Is In a talc formation, forma-tion, which gives great encouragement. Development work In the LchI Tlntlc property In North Tlntlc Is now in prog-ress prog-ress under the supcrintcndcncy of Manager Man-ager George Nichols, in tho upper and lower levels. In the llrst of these a nice showing of galena ore has been encountered. encoun-tered. The purpose of driving the lower tunnel is to Intercept the old "Empire vein " which Is but a few feet distant. Ere snow files again the Lehl Tlntlc will be llsled among the Tintic shippers, it is confidently predicted. Independence Mill Running. The mill of the Tndepcpdence Gold and Silver Mining company was tested yesterday yes-terday by running tho machinery for a couple of hours, says tho Wood Rlvor Times. As It ran smoothly, the mill was started up this morning for what Is expected ex-pected to bo a long campaign, as the ore in sight In the company's mines will suffice to keep It In operation for years. The Hailey Electric company Is supplying supply-ing the power for the mill over the mine company's transmission line. Boston Mining Stocks.
