Show LEASERS DO WELL 11 BULLION-RECK Taking Out Ore Carrying Over $21 a Ton in Copper. SpecUl to The Tribune. EUREKA, Utah, April 24. The leasers at the BulHon-Beck mine are finding the showing Improving with every blast, and reports Indicate they aro najrlng tho largo ore body. The ground on which they ore now working Is a short distance from tho main working shaft on the S00 level. Tho copper oro takon from this lease runs over $21 In copper. S. M. Simpson, who also lias a IcaHe In this mine, Is taking out silver oro which Is far ahove the average. Other leasers are making above the wage scale, which goes to show that tho "old Beck mine" Is still among the live ones. The Crown Point property, located In East Tlntlc, has again entered the field -as a live one, tho company having sufficient suf-ficient funds in tho treasury to keep tho mine In operation for the rest of tho year. Arrangements have been made to operate machine drills. The main shaft has attained at-tained 250 feet and from that level a wlnse has been sunk a distance of 100 feet. Over 500 fet of drifting and sinking sink-ing and a largo amount of development work has boon accomplished and the future fu-ture prospects are bright. Getting Good Returns. The leasers of the several properties at Silver City nro highly elated over the strikes thov arc making In the old properties prop-erties located In the south end of the district. dis-trict. Peterson and Moon, who have a lease on tho Minnie Moore, property, are now taking out ore that runs well In silver, sil-ver, lead and copper. On the Sunbeam property Showers and Joe Bowers, leasers, leas-ers, are getting splendid roturns from tho smelter. Tho Cllft property, which has been operated op-erated for several years by Frank Thorn-burg, Thorn-burg, is still bringing in good returns and tho miners are at presont following a stringer of fine silver-lead ore In a raise 150 feet above tho main tunnel level. Considerable work Is being done on the Elgin property, which adjoins the Cllft, which has an exceptional flno showing, and will, In a few months, join tho class of shippers. Now that the snow has disappeared from tho hills, a great deal of Interest Is being taken by mining men In the North Tintic district, whose properties hold fort,h excellent promise. At the Scranton mine a flno grade of zinc ore Is being mined from the upper levels and nlso a largo amount of work Is being be-ing done on the 600 level for the purpose of opening up a large body of ore. Tho Redwing group, which adjoins the Scranton, Is undergoing considerable development de-velopment Work, and In sinking the shaft Superintendent Nels Nelson has struck Into a couple feet of low-grade zinc ore, and the prospects are, from the presont outlook, that several now mines will be opened on tho Scranton vein. cOn the North Scranton property a tunnel Is bc-Inc bc-Inc driven beneath a bodv of ore on which there had already been sunk a shaft. The tunnel will cut a vein 300 feot from the surface, and, as tho shaft Is only down 150 feot. the formation should show cjulte a substantial change. Tintic Standard Busy. The entire force of the Tlntlc Standard Mining company Is now employed on development de-velopment work on the 1000 level. Work has been temporarily stopped on the 1100 level, as the top level showed better promise of touching the ore vein. Scattered Scat-tered through the quartz on the east drift on the 1000 level Is a fine showing of lead and sliver ore. The vein matter Is growing stronger and the main drift shows the approach to the large ore deposit de-posit A drift through the lime Is also being driven on the 1000 level for the purpose of crossruttlng the ground to tho northeast of the shaft. At the property of Tintic Central company com-pany miners are engaged In driving a raise from the S70 level, which Is following fol-lowing a strong vein of quartz, and the showing Is a very promising one. Superintendent Su-perintendent T. T. Holdway will have the ground thoroughly prospected, as the power and air for the operation of the property Is sufficient to carry on full operations. op-erations. The East Tlntlc Development property, which was thought several years ago by Provo mining men to be a Tlntlc winner, win-ner, and which was equipped with mod ern maciunery unu un miuuu niiuti nas sunk to a depth of 500 feet under the management of Ralph Kellogg, and which then promised to be one of the leading properties of East Tintic, but on which work was suddenly stopped several yeara ago, now promises to come to the front as a good producer of lead and zfnee ore. Messrs. Stove Angle. Charles Col vino and John Smith have taken a lease on the property and their work discloses a fine zinc ore which acts as a casing to the lead, and as this last discovery was made after the mining company ceased operations, opera-tions, leasers worked the zinc ore bodies until the price dropped clown to a point where nothing was to be made The price of zinc having gone up. the present leasers can handle this ore In addition to tho lead, of which they have struck a large deposit. Present developments show that the East Tintic Development will again bo among the large shippers of Tintic, The cyanide plant at tho May Day mine, which has been closed down during dur-ing the winter mouths, has ngaln resumed re-sumed operation under the management of George T. Castleton. C. C. Griggs and Wllman Carter. The plant will handle slxtv-two tons of ore per day and there Is sufficient ore in sight to keep the plant running until uoxt October.
