Show GLEASON GETS WRIST WATCH; ON WAR PATH ST. LOUIS. May 2. William' Glejyson, better known as ''Kid." Is going to war. Not to Mexico, but he Intends to start a revolution all his own right in the "White Sox camp. It all came, about because be-cause unknown persons presented Glca-son, Glca-son, champion strong-man handler, tough guv and gentleman, with a wrist watch. To think that anyone would dare give him such an effeminate article has got the "Kid's" goat and the perpetrators aro lying low. The watch was placed In Gleason's locker at the park yesterday and he found it there. He was game enough to wear it, but onlv until Mrs. Gleason saw-It, saw-It, whereupon the jewelry was removed to be seen no more.. "Kid" has an eye on Jim F-cott, as the watch was purchased when the S'ox and Giants were in Paris. Scottle refuses to bo interviewed on the subject, as ho now wears on one shin the teeth mnrks of Gleason, who adopted this mode of punishment because he learned to his own satisfaction that Scott was the writer of an anonymous letter sent to him during dur-ing the last days of tho training trip. |
