Show RUMORED CHANGES ARE YET UNCERTAIN Who Will Go or Stay in the Ogclcu Municipal Offices, Is the Problem. Special to Tho Tribune. OGDEN", Dec. 14. Only soventoen days remain before tho official termination of the present administration and tho withdrawal with-drawal of Commissioner J. C. Nye in favor of Commissioner-elect Chris Fly-gare, Fly-gare, yet the probablo changes in the personnel of the city's appointive staff have apparently been given little or no consideration. This, at least, is the only doclslon which can bo reached so far as Mayor A. G. Fell, Commissioner T. S. Browning and Mr Flygare will publicly express their views. . Owing to the avalanche of crime news which has been heaped upon tho public minds for the past several weeks the possible pos-sible changes In the police department are naturally commanding tho greater" public pub-lic Interest. It has been repeatedly rumored ru-mored that Chief W. L Norton will not head tho police department after the first of the now year. When questioned on 'tho matter Commissioner Browning, superintendent of public safety, donled absolutely that he had considered such a change, also declaring that ho had not considered possible changes In the departments de-partments under his direct supervision. The re-appointment of City Recorder Georgo Seaman and City Engineer H. J. Craven Ib generally conceded, but the former has planned to leave the office early in the year to take up his residence on a ranch near Peterson, Morgan county. It is practically certain that Walter Iioyt, principal assistant to City Auditor W. D. Van Dyke, will bo re-appolntcd by Auditor-elect Arthur F. Larson. Mrs. Mary Farley will be the other assistant in the auditor's office. Mr. Flygare declared today that he had not considered probablo new appointments or that he had decided upon tho persons to be directly connected with his department depart-ment of the city government. Under the certain reorganization after the first of the year it is probable that the incoming commissioner, Mr. Flygare. will replace Mr. Browning in charge of tho department of public safety, the present head of that department to succeed Commissioner Nye In cliargo of public improvements and Mayor Fell to retain chargo of public affairs, finance and water works. |
