Show I FESTIVAL IS SUCCESS. More Than 4000 Attend Ceremonies at School for Deaf and Blind. I Special to The Tribune. I OGDEN, May 23. With Governor Wil liam Spry and tho members of his staff i present, the fourth annual Mav festival of tho Utah School for the Deaf and 1 Blind was held on the school lawns this i evening. Nearly 100 Salt Lake people accompanied the official party to this i Ity and the great throng which wjt-! wjt-! nessed the exhibition numbered more i than 4000 persons. I In anticipation of tho large crowd, which has Increased at each yearly ' festival, Superintendent F, M. Drigga of the state school had provided seats for j several thousand people. Although tho j weather grow somewhat threatening I during the late ljours of the afternoon, there was no change In the original programme, which was given between the bourn of ii:30 and 7:.10 o'clock. The success of today's Tirogrummc. consisting of folk dances, g-anios and festival dances, Is said to havu sttir-passed sttir-passed that of any previous festival given by tho state school students. The exhibition was given under tho direction of Mrs. Bollo S. Ross, director of physical physi-cal education at tho schooL Music was furnished by an enlarged orchestra. Following the programme. Governor Spry and tho other members of tho Salt Lake party were entertained at an Informal In-formal reception in the parlors of the school. |
