Show FLASHLIGHT POWER EXPL00E5I THEATER Benjamin Ellerbeck, University Univer-sity Student, Injured in Attempt At-tempt at Photography. Tho explosion of flashlight powder- being be-ing used to take a picture of 200 singers of tho University of Utah Musical society, so-ciety, which rendered "The Messiah" at the Salt Lake theater last night, seriously seri-ously injured Benjamin Ellerbeck. 21 years of ago, son of W. W. Ellerbeck of 2 South Ninth Ennt street, at 11 o'clock last night. Tho young man's Injuries consist of a hole nearly an Inch In diameter through his right wrist, several sev-eral lacerations on tho left arm and hand and on tho face, nnd a missing tooth. Ho was not rendered unconscious and ran to tho police emergency hospital, hos-pital, whoro surgical aid was given by Dr. H. B. Sprngue. After his wounds had been dressed Ellerbeck left tho station. sta-tion. Later, when a Tribune reporter cnllcd at the Ellerbeck homo to leuni the extent, ex-tent, of the boyB Injuries ho was met at tho door by Mrs. Ellcrbeck. who had been awaiting har son's return. She know nothing of the accident and becamo hystorical whon told of It. Sho culled her husband, who went upstairs to call another eon. Tho discover' was thon made that young Ellerbeck was In bed and fast asleep. Ho had como home without his mother's knowledge and gone quietly to his room In order that the sight of his Injury might not worry her. Ellerbeck 1b a sophomore at the University Uni-versity of Utah, taking an engineering course. He is reputed as being a first-class first-class photographur, but Ids efforts last night proved disastrous. There were soma cries of fright, but soon all became quiet, as It was seen that the only damage was the fluent flow of blood and a mined sot of flashlight apparatus.
