The majority of tho injurod woro girls, many of them sustaining broken arms and legs. The students wero rehearsing the oratorio, ora-torio, "Samson," which was to have been given here tonight when tho accident acci-dent occurred. Moro than 100 boya and j girls, seated in the balcony, wero thrown twenty feet to the floor, and it was with difficulty that they woro extricated from tho debris. Several girls hearing the creaking of tho temporary structure, became frightened fright-ened and jumped. All tho students in tho balcon3' seated themselves at the tamo time, causiu its supports to givo way. It iB not bolioved that any of the injured will die. |
