The request for a reconsideration was based on the ground that most of the oro bping taken from the mines of tho Iron Blossom company is located in Juab county and that the taxes should thoreforo bo giveu that county. Tho decision of tho stato board of equalization equali-zation in tho first nlace was thrit ihn ore outcrops in Utah county and should bo apportioned there. This is the decision de-cision uphold yesterday by tho board's refusal of Juab county's roqucst. Tho custom has been to award tho taxes to tho county whero the oro has its outcropping and tho officials of the mining company give Utah countv as their hoadqunrters. However, the Juab county authorities have started suit in the courts to test tho legality of this view. Moiubcrs of tho equalization board oaj- their decision will havo no effect on tho suit. The taxes which are being fought for total a considerable sum, as the total valuation of the mining property is $100,000. r |
