The yacht will ) be built for a syndlcato of Philadelphia, N'w York and Boston yachtsmen, probably prob-ably by the Bath Iron works of Bath, Mv, from designs by George Owen of Xewton. Mr. Owen and President John S. Hyde of the Iron works left for New York tonight to-night nnd will meet Commodore E. Walter Wal-ter Clark of Philadelphia nnd George M. Pynchon of New York, who tiro the heads of the syndicate. N Mr. Owen carried with him the do-slgn, do-slgn, which provides for a eoventy-flvo-foot sloop. Her falling master will be Captain Howell, who for several years has served In a similar capacity on the sloop Istalana. owned by Mr. JPynchon. It was reported here tonight that the prospective cup defender to be built at the I.awley yards In Nepons'et will be backed not only by A. DoWltt Cochrane of New York, but also by Morton F, Plant, and will be palled by Captain William F. Dennis of Mr. Plant's schooner schoon-er yacht, the Elena.
