A very mysterious daylight. robbciy occurred in Provo Fri-day Fri-day afternoon which netted the thieves about $850 in jewelry set with diamonds. dia-monds. Taylor Brothers company, on West Ceutcr srreet, were the victims. Tho loss was discovered about f o'clock yesterduy afternoon by G. H. Hcindsolman, who is in charge of tho jewelry department of the Taylor Brothers Purniture company. At that time Mr. Ilcindsclman noticed that somo diamond rings were gone from tho trays in the show case. He had been in the storo all day except during tho noon hour, when he went )to lunch and was gone from 12 till 1. It; is supposed sup-posed that the jewehy was taken at that time. There was no ono in the jewelry department de-partment during the hour Mr. ileindsel-man ileindsel-man was away, but there were several clerks in tho" same room and in full view of the jewelry section, but nothing noth-ing was seen by any of the clerks to croaio suspicion. Tho stolen jewelry consists of six diamond rings and ono lady's brooch with a diamond setting, the whole valued at $S50. The riu2S wore picked out from among other rings and jewelry and their nbsence was not noticed until a close oxaminalion was mado. Both tho county and city officers have boon notified of the robbery and are working on tho case. |
