Show MURDER CHARGE IN LOUIS LOY CASE Chinese Consul General Wants Complaint Com-plaint Filed Against Detective Detec-tive Clovoland, Special to 'The Tribune. SAN FRANC I SCO, July 22. Li Lung Yow, the Chinese consul general hore, has taken up the case of Louie I ioy, an aged Chinaman, who was slain by a police detective at Salt Lake a few days ago. The consul general was at lirst'reluctant to iuterferc, as it was represented to him by some of his countrymen coun-trymen that Loy was the keeper of an opium den and was escaping after his arrest. Inllueutial Chinese and others in Salt Lake, however, have urged the consul general to take action. According lo tho request of his countrymen coun-trymen the consul general has placed the case in t he-handa of Attorney Carroll Car-roll Cook of this city. Attorney Cook could not be found this evening, but it is understood that an information is to bo lilud through tho regular channels in Salt Lake charging tho detective cither with murder or manslaughter.
