Show NEW ZEALAND COAST TO BE RESURVEYED Special Cable to The Tribune. WELLINGTON', New Zealand, July 22. The Antarctic expedition ship Terra Nova, now at Lyltleton. has been engaged en-gaged by the New Zealand government for constnl survey work until she is required re-quired to proceed south again in December Decem-ber next. Before Captain Scott left for the Antarctic a tentative agreement was entered Into by him wllh the Hon. J. A. Millar,. minister of marine, that the Terra Nova should be employed on this work durln? her spare time in New Zealand. Mr. -Millar atated that the Terra Nova will be sent to as many places lor re-survcylm,' re-survcylm,' as she has tlmo to visit and she should be able to do a good deal of work during the next six months that she will be at the government's disposal, Including the coist off New Plymouth and near Cape Palliscr along the coast where the Pemtuin was wrecked. Uaro Island (Hawke's bay) Is supposed to be two miles out. and In addition Cape Farewell. Cape Campbell and the Fast cape are places where the Terra Nova may be utilised with advantage. |
