Newell Dwiglit Hlllls, pastor of Plymouth church. Brooklyn, was sued hero today by Edward Hodgson, a Victoria mining engineer, for $rU.O00 worth of stock in the Western Steel corporation, as well as $1000 wages alleged to be due for development de-velopment services in connection with coal lands on Graham Island. B. C. Counsel for Hodgson made an application applica-tion before Chief Justice Hunter for the ex -Juris service of,a writ on Mr. mills in Brooklyn. Tho order for service was granted. It was slated that tho plaintiff undertook under-took to oMiminc the corI lands for Mr. Hlllls and that he was Instrumental in putting through a deal by which the Western Steel corporation of Seattle and Vancouver acquired them. For this work. It Is alleged, he had contract wltlr the clergyman Tor 5;00 a month salary and SnO.GOO worth of stock In tho Western SteM corporation. It Ix alleged that when the sale was consummated and Mr. HIIHa received more than ?2f.0,000 worth of stock I lodgson was forgotten. Plaint IIT asks for an Injunction against the sale of tho Jllllis stock, as well as an accounting of the transaction with the AVcslern Steel corporation. |
