Show Universifcy Notes The Scribblers' club will be the guest of Nell .In del at his home Saturday evening. even-ing. The large pumping frame blown over last winter is being rebuilt and soon will be ready for carrying on the further tests started last fall. A new cement walk Is being built from Die north end of the physics north to the university avenue. The work will be finished this week. The university girls are planning a matinee dance for this afternoon in the men s gymnasium. All old students are promised an excellent chance of meeting new students. A special invitation has been Issued to all students of the U D. S. U.. the high school, St. Marv's academy acad-emy and Rowland hall. The university Normal Kindergarten girls spent Thursday afternoon in the girls' rest room, hemming napkins for use at university banquets. A general discussion was conducted In the afternoon, after-noon, in which plans were gone over for the best Improvement of the institutions for the women at the varsity. The final extemporaneous speaking contest will be held this morning at chapel exorcises. Three of the seniors, D. M. Draper. C. T. Woodbury and 1,. Tom Perry, will be Die contestants and will speak on subjects taken from iho general topic. "Kcouomlo Life of Die Twentieth Century." A. cash prize will be given for the best speech, Judge O. V. Powers being the donor. The Agricultural college will present '"Ihe Climbers" at the Salt Lake theater Saturday evening to show the appreciation appre-ciation for the excellent turnout given the university dramatic performance at Logan. The varsity dramatic club has formed a boosters" club to got a good audience for Die Logan company. The Amlcl Fldlelmi fraternity will attend the play In a body, as will the L'nl-versltj L'nl-versltj Dramatic club. |
