An echo of the politics at the recent National Conservation Conserva-tion congress at St Paul was heard here today In an Interview with Edward W. Hines and in a statement from B. N. The delegates in general, when they learned that Glfford Plnchot, who is president of the National Conservation Con-servation association, refused to allow the use of his name in connection with the presidency of the congress, took it for granted that Mr. White, chairman of the executive committee, would be elected elect-ed to the place which was expected to bo vacated by President B. In the absence of JBh any legitimate reason for requesting my withdrawal. the Illinois delegation dragged in silly gossip connecting my BBV name unpleasantly with the election of William Lorimer to the United States JIJ senate. This is a matter which will be IwAl discussed when I am a witness before the flU Lorimer investigating committee, which jOBa will meet here September 20. ''Previous to the congress I requested UpH Mr. White not to name me on any com- HBa mlttecs, or to assign me to any duties Ha In connection with the congress."
