Show GOOD CHANGE FOR WASHINGTON DEMOCRAT SEATTLE, Wash., Sept. 15. Returns from Skagit county received tonight leave practically no doubt that Congressman William E. Humphrey, stand -patter, has been renominated in the First district, having more than 40 per cent of the votes caBt and a small plurality over Thomas P, Revelle. Insurgent. The Democratic Dem-ocratic nomineo, Superior Judge W. W. Black of Everett, an effective campaigner cam-paigner and who was elected to his present pres-ent office by Insurgent Republican votes, Is making plans to contest the district with Humphrey, tho primary having shown that the district is Insurgent by a large majority and that the insurgents lost by splitting their votes among three candidates. Study of the results of tho balloting for legislative nominees reveals great slaughter slaugh-ter among the members of the "old guard," and there will Tjo an unusually largo number of new members in tho next legislature. |
