Show LOGAN COACHES SCORE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH Special to Tho Tribune. LOGAN, April 2. Local fans who follow fol-low collogo sports wore astonished today whon they read that tho University of Utah had docldcd to withdraw from tho Intercollegiate league and no llttlo indignation in-dignation was expressed. Coach ICemp of the B. Y. C. team said. "I am astonished that tho U" should do such a thing, as It must know that wo iavo made all arrangements for tho en-tiro en-tiro season. Wo have sold a groat many season tickets for the Ieaguo games and havo spent some money In other ways preparing for what appeared to us to be tho most promising season In baseball that wo have had In many years, and It Is not fair upon tho part of tho university univer-sity to notify us at this late hour that It will not play. Tho B. Y. C. loam will bo kopt In tho field. The Agglos, Salt Lako High school, Weber Stake academy and Oneida Stake academy will havo teams, and wo can arrange a scries of games with each other at any rate, wo shall try to do ho." Coach Tcetzel said: "Well, if the varsity boys want to quit of course we. can't help It, but they owed it to us to notify us of this intention before. be-fore. They havo probably decided that their material Is not of the best this year, and to avoid getting an awful drubbing flunked. It's bad faith, that's what It Is, and the 'U' ought to be above such a display." |
