Show RELIEF SOCIETY WORK REVIEWED AT MEETING Sessions of Conference Attended At-tended by Large Nnmber of Interested Members. Tho confcrcnco of the Relief society of the Mormon church, which convened in the Assembly hall Friday was brought-to and end Saturday afternoon. Two sessions woro hold Saturday, at 10 and 2 o'clock, with President Bath-shoba Bath-shoba W. Smith presiding. The feature of tho Saturday morning session was an address on the "Prevention of Ty? phoid Fever and Tuberculosis,' ' by Dr. George W. Middlclon. Dr. Middleton dcclarod, that knowing these diseases, people of the present day have a good chance of preventing them If thoy live according to the light they possess. Aftor Dr Middleton 's address, the genoral session adjourned, and the departmental de-partmental meetings wero held. The secretaries' and treasurers' departments depart-ments held their meqting in the Assembly As-sembly hall. In the banquet hall of tho Bishops' building a largo assemblage assem-blage attended tho mothers' meeting. Tho feature of this meeting was an address by Counselor Ida Smoot Duscn- bury. Tho Reliof society's frco nurse class mot in another room of the Bishops' building, with Mrs. Phoebe Y. Beattie presidiug. Mrs. Beattie addressed the gathering on the aims and requirements of the department. Another speaker at the Jneeting was Mrs. Emma Empy. Tho aftornoon and final session was held in the Assembly at 2 o'clock. The programme included a vocal solo by Horaco S. Ensign, an address by Mrs. E. B. Wells, a recitation bv Ardella M. Tibbcy, an address by Mrs. Julia M. Farnsworth. In the evening a reception re-ception was held in tho Relief society rooms in tho Administration building. At the aftornoon session of the conference con-ference Mrs. Alico Merrill Tlorne Introduced Intro-duced a resolution to patronize homo industry, which wns adopted. |
