Show FIRES FOUR BULLETS , INTO JI&M BODY John C. Baker, Business Man of Ogdcn, Attempts. Self-Destruction. Self-Destruction. Special to The Trlhune. OGDEN. Aug. 8. Placing the muzzle of a revolver to his left breast, shortly before be-fore midnight tonight. John C. Baker fired four shots In rapid succession into his body, and Is now lying at his home In a critical condition. Two of the bullets passed through the muscles of his breast, but the course taften by tho other two has not yet been determined by Dr. E. M. Conroy. who was called in shortly after the attempted suicide. Baiter made the attempt at self-destruction In his room at 237 Twenty-eighth street. No definite reason has been assigned as-signed for the deed other than tho fact that Baker has been despondent for several sev-eral days. - . , Hearing tho report of the revolver. Baker's Bak-er's wife and other members of the family rushed Into the room to find him lying on the floor covered with blood. Dr. Conroy Con-roy said late tonight that the wounded man has a good chanco for recovery. Baker is proprietor and manager of a billiard bil-liard and poolroom at 314 Twenty-fifth street. Ho is married and has a largo family. |
