Introduced a resolution resolu-tion to confine the business of tho extra session to consideration of tho tariff bill and the bill providing for the thirteenth census, but afterward amended It so as to permit tho Introduction of bills nnd the transaction of executive business. The resolution went over until Thursday. Senator Elklns criticised the distribution distribu-tion of tho Republican membership of the finance committee, declaring that, while New Kngland has three members on the committee, the south had been denied representation. The senate adjourned until un-til Thursday.
