Show HABBIMAN'S HEALTH GOOD; HE WILL NOT RETIRE OGDEN, March 29. Prosidcnt E. II. Harriman and a pnrty of personal friends and prominent railroad officials arrived from the west on a special train over tho Southern Pacific at 9:15 this morning, and a few minutes later the special left for Salt Lake, whore the visitors remained a short time before returning to Ogden enroute to New York Citv over the Union Pacific, Chicago Chi-cago & Northwestern and New York Contra! roads. A few minutes after the special rolled into tho Ogdcn depot from the west, President Harriman emerged from his privato car, with a heavy overcoat buttoned from his chin to his ankles, and a moment later he grasped Depot Master Shields by tho hand inquired if this was the best weather "Utah could servo at' this season of the year, and asked if tho newspaper men were on hand to apply the inquisitorial part for the benefit of the public. Mr. Harriman was active, in splendid humor, and evidenced a greatly improved im-proved condition over that noticeable during his last visit to Ogden sovcral months ago. His color was good, his oyes sparkling and he was talkative, pleasant, genial and almost humorous at time's. Replj'ing to queries submitted, tho small, delicnte-anpearing aud yet all-powerful all-powerful railroad magnate, Bnid: "My goneral health during tho present pres-ent tnp through the southwest and on the coast has improved wonderfully, and I nm feeling better physically than for a long time. I havo been largely free from exacting cares and have met with a kindly and cordial rccoption ev-orywhero ev-orywhero we have stopped. I am not in' the invalid class in any sense of the term and now feel equal to anything which may arise in connection with our railroad 'interests. In such a condition condi-tion I. am not likely to retire from active ac-tive railroad service for a long time to como." |
