| Show let Us have fairs social political and industrial affairs in this territory have been in such an ugly state during tho past few years that many matters of a public nature have been neglected one of those is the annual fair which used to be the source of so much pleasure and benefit to the community like other institutions the society which used to arrange for and manage the fairs has also been demoralized zed it may retain an organization iza tion but it ahas cot been heard from in so many years people wonder if it has gone out of existence now that matters are fast returning to their condition and people are again worling world ng for the good of the territory instead of its injury it is suggested that there be a return to the annual exhibition of territorial products that people may note the progress that is being made in the various branches of local industry since the jasic fair there has been wonderful advance in agriculture the arts in manufacture in stock raising and in industrial development generally comparatively few people realize the full extent of the progress that has been made as the masses have had little or no opportunity port unity to what has been done it would be well if there could be an exhibit which would make plain at a glance the progress that has taken place while the community was engaged in the strife and turmoil which have disturbed people during the last decade such sa exhibit would stimulate to greater achievements and encourage to well doing it is to be hoped that the legislature will take the necessary action to revive the institution of annual fairs the money required will be wisely invested and the public will derive the benefit herald |
