Show (. A. I. VETERANS ILL HAVE AJAIA OUTING " Plans Making for Unprecedented Unprece-dented Observance of Flag Day at Lagoon. According to tho plans now being laid by tbe Grand Army of the Republic, tho Flag day celebration at Lagoon on June 15 -will be one of the grandest and biggest big-gest days the resort has over known. Not only aro the old veterans of Salt Lako City to take part In the celebration, but G. -A. K. posts from Ogdon and several sev-eral other near-by towns will be present to assist In making the day one to be long remembered. The management of "The Prettiest Spot In Utah" has declared de-clared Its Intention of decorating the re- sort In an appropriate manner and tho stars and btrlpes will be soon Moating from every mast and all of the buildings covered with the national colors. At night the grounds will bo lighted with I hundreds of colored electric lights ano will present a most beautiful scene. The celebration Is for the double- purpose pur-pose of honoring the birth of the national Jlag and raising funds to defray the expenses ex-penses of the delegates who will fight to bring the G. A. K. national encampment to Salt Lake City in 1900. Col. Georgo Tl. Squires Is the chairman of tho executive execu-tive committee, and haa appointed many subcommittees, which arc now busily engaged en-gaged in perfecting plans for tho outing. The Lngoon management has arranged for special train service. There will bo in addition several trains run from Ogden Og-den for the accommodation of the veterans veter-ans there. Tho round trip fare from Salt Lake City, including admission to tho grounds, wlll.be 25 cents. |
