Amateur billiard players will meet at the Lic-derkranz Lic-derkranz club to decide tho next National Na-tional championship. This was tho vote of tho assembled members of tho National Association of Amateur Billiard Bil-liard Players at the special meeting hold in the rooms of the Liederkrauz club President Frank J. Howell, of the Chicago Athletic association, presided, and more clubs ami associations associa-tions fostering tho game wcro represented repre-sented than ever before in tho history his-tory of an amateur game. Committee Making Arrangements. Tho championship tournament will bo hold some time late in February, or early in March, the date to be decided de-cided upon later by. tho joint committees com-mittees of the National association and that of the Liederkranz club. All of tho details of tho tournament will be in the hands of a committee of tho National association, consisting of J. Ferdinand Poggenburg, chairman; Dr. Jj, L. Mini, Dr. A. B. Miller. Edward W. Gardner, Charles S. Norris, David J. Burtis and President Howell, ex-. officio. The matches will be 300 points at .14 2 balk lino, and will bo hold in the large concert hull of the club, which will scat .1000 spectators. Jt was decided that no admission be charged, but all members of recognized recogniz-ed clubs.will.be admitted on presentation presenta-tion of card. Tlicro was some discussion as to the holding of a National Class B . championship cham-pionship during November or December, Decem-ber, and also a metropolitan meeting. The arrangements for these tournaments tourna-ments were left to the committee with full power to act. An application of the Chicago Athletic association to hold tho Class A championship of the Middle West during the last two weck3 of November was granted. |
