Many of fhe old scullers along the Harlem river argue that they hare been greatly handicapped in the past by the lack of adequate training facilities for the early regattas. Several clubs intend to Install rowing machines in their quarters this year. The First Bohemian Boat club, which has among its members ?uch sterling oarsmen as Frank Vesely, LouIf Major and many others, will set up a complete gymnasium I apparatus this -winter, Including an oight-oared oight-oared rowing machine. The Crescent Rowing club, which has not figured prominently in aquatic sports in th last two years, is contemplating con-templating the advisability of putting in a complete Bet of rowing machines this fail. The club intends to develop a junior eight and four this winter. Active preparations are alreadv under way for a busy season at the Atalantc Bc-al club. Several memhers will have new shells built, and many Improvements to the inr terior of the clubhouse arc planned. |
