Show MERITED PROMOTION J. M. Anderson Honored by American Smelting and Refining Company. J. M. Anderson, for tho past two years in the employ of tho American Smelting aud Refining company, during which timo ho purchased the company's com-pany's grounds at Garfield and built eighty houses for tho company there the past season, will enter a now field. Mr. Anderson has recently been appointed ap-pointed to take charge of the Guggenheim Guggen-heim works at Ely. Nov., and Saii Erancisco, tho great smelting works iu Alaska, a visit to which Mr. Anderson has but recently returned from, and all of the company's smelting plants in the United States and Africa. Mr. Anderson has been selected for this work by S. W. Eccles on account of his special fitucS3 to discharge tho-duties tho-duties perlainiug to tho " responsible position. Mr. Anderson in only one of several western .Mien, some of whom, like Mr. Anderson, are Salt Lakers, who havo been selected by Mr. Eccles for important import-ant positions in tho company 's scrvico, all of whom havo this lar made good. Mr. Anderson is to be congratulated upon up-on his preferment. For tho time being his headquarters will be in Salt Lake, but it is expected will bo transferred to New York eventually. |
