Edward Taylor of the State Board of Horticulture Is hard at work try- ing to organize a fruit growers' sssocia-tlon sssocia-tlon for tho protection of tho fruit man of Utah. Tho glutted condition of the local IH markets, us well cr. thoso of the East, have shown tho need of an organization of thlc kind, and nlso for a storago house. Stopn are being taken at the present time to so-euro so-euro a cold storago plant at a central point in tho East Mill district. Acting on a proposition made them by Mr. Taylor, aeveral of tho largest fruit growers have combined, nnd throe cars of peaches left Murray this week, being sold to a Minneapolis firm. This la the first concignmont of peaches over shipped-- out of tho county by tho growors. Most of the other fruit districts do their shipping through an association, and there is no , doubt that the fruit growers of this State will organize. |
