PART OF ROAD STILL UNCONTBACTBD FOR Bids Are in for Additional Hundred Hun-dred Miles of Route in Nevada. All reports to the contrary, the. original survey of the Western Pacific from- Salt Lake City to San Francisco has' not been changed. Some small chnnges have been made, su:h as the elimination of curves, but the route 'XC tho road eo far as It touches the cities of Nevada and California Califor-nia has not been altered. Some Contracts Not Let The coiltracts for a considerable portion por-tion of the road ln Nevada have not vet been let. The road from the west end or the desert, to the oast end of the Beck-with Beck-with pass, n dlstanco of about 3(0 miles, la still uncontracted for. Bids are In for tho contract for a hundred miles of this distance,, from tho west end of the desert through a mountainous rang. Including Silver Zone. pass, nnd thi6 contract wJU be let in the course of tho next few davs, but from Beckwlth pass east for 200 miles contracts have not been let. Work on. Salt Lake Division. Work on the 'Salt Lake division was progressing satisfactorily until the rain interfered Tho track Is now laid two miles west of ths city' and nmnv cars of ties and rails vire on hand so that the ttork can be continued Just as soon as the weather -will permit. |
