The Republican Re-publican Stato convention met today to nominate candidates for Governor, Lieutenant-Governor. Auditor-General and Secretary of Internal Affairs. Congressman Con-gressman Olmstead of Dauphin county wao chosen temporary chairman. The slated candidates are: Governor Edwin S. Stuart of Philadelphia. Phila-delphia. Lieutenant-Governor Robert S. Murphy Mur-phy of Cambria county. Auditor-General Robert K. Young of Tioga county. Secretary of Internal Affairs Henry Houck of Lebanon. There was apparently no organized opposition to this ticket. The Platform. Wo congratulate tho people of the United Unit-ed States on continued Industrial prosperity pros-perity under Republican control In national na-tional affairs. We give full credit and pralso to tho managers of great Industrial enterprises for tholr splendid achievements, but condemn con-demn those managers who have grossly misused their powers by unfair methods of competition, by transportation discriminations, dis-criminations, by evasions of law, and who have in so doing under cover of corporate organization obtained personal gain whllo escaping personal responsibility to the Injury' In-jury' of the Interests they represent and of the public with whom they deal. Roosevelt Indorsed. Wo most heartily and cordially Indorse and commend the splondld administration of President Theodore Roosevelt. Particularly Particu-larly do we commend his administration for Its fair, vigorous and successful enforcement en-forcement through the Department of Justice of the nntl-trust and Interstate commerce laws, the enforcement of which has compelled respect for law and mado It clear that great corporations and great financial Interests, when guilty, will be treated as any other lawbreakers. It Is a matter of pride to Pennsylvania that ho who was the Attorney-General under whom this policy was Inaugurated, and who so signally aided In making It successful. suc-cessful.
