Sparks and Attorney-General Sweeney came hero today to learn what action had been taken last night by the Miners' union In tho matter of the proposed strike against the Western Union Telegraph company. Tho strlko had been planned by tho officers of the Industrial Workers of tho World and threatened to Involve ulll of the union men here Old Force nt Work. Tho Miners' union refused to countenance counte-nance the proposed strike and thin action virtually disposes of the threatened tiouble. The Western Union is now conducting con-ducting business as usual with Its old force. Gov Sparks spoke very plainly to the laborers and said that any vlolonce would bo quickly checked by tho National Na-tional and Stato Governments. |
