Corncci unexpectedly diod from tho tfunshot wonnds inflicted upon him by Tondi, at St. Mark's hospital about 5t o'clock Friday morning, augmenting the seriousness serious-ness of the case against Tondi. Caracci was shot three times, once in the left l arm, another time iu the back and a third lime in the right hip, at Fifth Wost and Second South streets, following fol-lowing a quarrel and fight between him and Tondi over u woman Tuesday night. Tondi is said to have got the worst of the initial encounter with fista. Two or three fnlse clews wore sprung in the search for Tondi Friday. Ono report was to the effect lhat, ho was hccii in Ogdon. but investigation showed its falsity. Tondi also was reported to have been seen in the southwest part of tho cit and Policeman George Harris Har-ris made a hurried trip there on a bicycle, bicy-cle, but found no trace. Policeman I?. II. Seagar investigated clows at Garfield Gar-field with no favorable results, and Detective Burt made a fruitless trip to Bingham looking for traces of Tondi. A systematic search was begun for Tondi Friday, following his victim '3 death. Pictures of the murderer, with a detnilcd description of him, were printed to the number of 100 late Friday Fri-day night and will be scattered broadcast broad-cast over this part of the country. The polire believe thoy will capture Tondi. Caracci 's funeral will bo held from 'Evans's undertaking parlors at -11 1 o'clock this morning. Interment will I be iu Calvary cemetery. |
