Show ROBIN MAKES ITS NEST OF HER RARE OLD LACE Trq'i-cllmbing stunts were- tried by fashionable residents of Wood street, Burlington, Bur-lington, N. J., In an effort to recover ti valuable piece of feminine, finery which hud mysteriously disappeared from tho lawn at the home of Miss Emma. Dug-dale. Dug-dale. In West Union street. ' In rummaging ovor some old heirlooms Miss Dugdale came across a beautiful lace collar of great value, and nearly a century old. The neckpiece was a trifle yellow with age. and thinking to bleach It out she placed It on the lawn in the sun. A robin splod the finery, and cnrrlod It off to her nest high up in a nearby walnut wal-nut tree. Miss Dugdalo grieved much over her loss, thinking a thief had made off with tho collar. A flutter of white In the walnut treo caught her eye, and she discovered the robins weaving a nest out of tho lost plcco of lace. Sho summoned her neighbors, and dignified dig-nified doctors nnd brokers took the creases out of their trousers In trying lu shin up Hie tree and recover the booty from the feathery thieves. Finally one 1 gallant climber succeeded In reaching the lofly height, knocked the nest loose with a clothesprop and returned the fluffy trifle to Its owner. : i 1 |
