Show MUSICAL CHAUTAUQUA FIRST NIGHT'S CONCERT Everything points to a gala week at Wandamere. beginniug next Monday, when Salt Lake will see for the first timo in itB history a grand musical Chautauqua. Tho sale of scats at the Claj'ton Music company is progressing very favorably. Much interest is centered cen-tered in tho first night's concert, when tho famous Ogden tabernacle choir will render "The First Christmas," by Whitne3' Coombs. Joseph Ballantyno will direct the choir and J. J. McClel-lan McClel-lan will accompany. Tho choir will bo assisted by Ogden and Salt Lake's leading soloists. For the second night S. Coleridge-Taylor's "Death of Minnehaha" Min-nehaha" will be sung bv tho Festival cliorus, J. J. McClellan directing, Mrs. Emma Bamscy-Morris soprano, and Hugh W. Dougall baritone. Edward P. lvimball will bo tho accompanist. Tho management received cash prizes yesterday from M. H. Walker, Jl. J. Grant, D. C. Dunbar and others. |
