MacDonald of the MncDonnld Matto Smelter company of Toledo, O., loft hero several days ago nfler thoroughly investigating tho prospects pros-pects of the district for tho purpose of finding sufficient of tho sulphldo ores to quarantco them success In installing suoh ii. plum. ueioro leaving neiu nu bi.vu uui tho positive assuranco that his company wculd at once begin preparations for putting put-ting In a sixty-ton mill. Tho plant will bo a concentrator, working four tons of oro into ono and then matto tho concentrates concen-trates on tho ground preparatory for shipment. On tho first of tho coming month C. W. Munson. president nnd manager of tho MncDonald company, will bo hero to mako tho necessary contracts for ore supply and also to nrrango for preliminary prelimi-nary work on tho mill. They aro also to tako bonds and leases on three different differ-ent properties, upon which tho company will proceed with development on their own account. Tho mill will bo located in Basin Creek, about a half mllo below camp, at tho foot of Gold hill. By a careful estimate from fourteen different properties an averago of eighty tons of ore, all classes, can bo produced here dnily. and tho fact that everything points to an open and pleasant winter is sufficient evidence that when spring comes and tho smelter Is ready for operation, oper-ation, Basin and the surrounding country will bo highly prosperous with something doing. Tho properties to bo worked this winter aro tho Grouso Mountain, tho Castle Cas-tle Mountain, Skylark, Laura, Tornado, Gold Hill. High Ore. Bryan, Llttlo Dot, Aspen, Corsair and two properties In Beaver basin. Thoso who aro not able to provide themselves for tho work will bo encouraged by tho company. |
