Arrangements for tho trip of President Roosevelt through tho South practically havo been completed, except those pertaining to his visit to New Orleans and Llttlo Rock. On account of tho provaicnco of yellow fever In New Orleans, It Is not unllkoly that tho President may defer his visit to that city until a later time, ln which ovont ho would visit Little Rock at tho same tlmo. Ho is bolng urged not to go to Now Orleans Or-leans so long na tho yollow fever epidemic continues there, but ho has received assurances as-surances that tho fever will bo stamped out beforo tho tentative date of his visit, October 21. A suggestion was mado recently that on account of tho quarantlno placed by tho authorities of Arkansas on passengers from New Orleans, tho President should visit Llttlo Rock beforo going to New Orleans. This idea Is ln tho minds of tho Arkansas authorities. May Return by Sea, It was announced officially tonight that if tho quarantlno regulations of other States should prevent tho President's cn-tranco cn-tranco into Arkansas or his return to Washington by rail, after having visited Now Orleans, ho may consider tho plan of making Now Orleans the final stop on his trip nnd returning from thoro to Washington Wash-ington by sea. However, no dctlnlto plans havo been mado for tho New Orleans and Llttlo Rock portion of tho trip and thoy will not bo completed for two weeks. |
