OGDEN, Sept. 23.-Gcorgc Jefferson, a half-breed half-breed Indian from Green Bay, Wis., aged about 33 yenro. and a giant In stature, dropped dead In tho St. I.oulo saloon at G.10 tonight. Ho was on his way homo from Portland, and carried a flrst-claoa ticket. A post-mortem examination was held by Drs. Dickson and Wherry. Prof. F A. Sullivan Sulli-van of Colorado and Elijah Likens, at whoso undertaking establishment tho body Is held. Jofforson had stepped off tho train and entered en-tered tho saloon when stricken. Tho examination examina-tion showed that ho died of valvular heart disease, dis-ease, nnd ho condition of his ntoinach showed tho evidences of execsstvo alcoholic stimulants. Ho was woll-dresscd nnd had on his person JSO In gold, J1.0S In silver, some good Jewelry and a gold watch and chain. Tho body will bo prepared for Bhlpment to Green Bay. |
