Show Game More Plentiful This Fall Than It Has Been in Many Years. . GAME WARDEN JACKLING PREDICTS LIVELY SHOOTING Says Htfnters Misconstrue Law as to Limits for Bird and Duck Shooting. As. usual, tho prediction is made that tho approaching qunll and duck season will be the most lively in the history of tho State. It Is safe to say, however, that this prediction will prove moro than true this year, as all Indications point to that conclusion. All tho hunters , of former for-mer years are polishing up their guns, and, with the new aggregation of sports that will launch forth this season, will keep tho qunll nnd ducks busy dodging shot. As Many Hunters as Birds? "Tho first day,'' said a local dcalcj In guns and ammunition, "there will be as many hunters ns there arc duck and quail But one must not Infer that each of these hunters will be successful In his first day's shooting. On the contrary, it la safe to say that only about one out of ten hunters will be able to do anything much tho first day. "As tho season progresses, however, the hunters will become more skillful nnd better marksmen, and will be able to bring down the birds nnd fowl with but little difficulty Personally, 1 am going to wait a few days before I get out with my shot and shell, since I believe as the number of hunters dwindle down, the shooting will bo better. Gun Dealers Busy. "All the dealers In guns are doing a great business this year. All the old hunters aro laying In a great quantity of shot and powder, and tho new sportsmen, who are determined to be on the hunting grounds first, are buying line outfits and are Impatient to fire oft their shotguns at the elusive quail and ducks. The new hunters furnish great amusement for us dealers; they hardly know what they wnnt In the lino of guns or anything else, but are easy to plcuse." Warden Jacling Talks. Game Warden Enos M. Jackllng of Salt Lake county brings the glad tidings that game Is more .plentiful this searon than It has been In many years. This Is especially espe-cially true, ho says, in connection with quail and duck, and he says that there will be a multitude of hunters nftor them. The game law provides that tho quail season shall be confined to the period between' be-tween' September 30 and October 11, with a limit of twelve birds n day per huntor; and the duck season from September 30 to January 1, with a limit of twenty-live fowls a day. Limitations of Season. Gamo Warden Jackllng states that many hunters misconstrue tho reading of the law as to tho limit of the quail and duck season. According to the game warden, the law means that qunll cannot ho shoi until October 1 nor after October 10. and ducks not before October 1 nor after December 31. Therefore, hunters who get busy on September :i0 or wait until October 11 to kill quail or until January Jan-uary 1 to kill ducks are likely to fall Into thu clutches of the law.
