Tho report of tho Commlslaoner of Pensions for tho fiscal fis-cal year ending July 1 last shows that during the year thero were 4S.9S5 allowances allow-ances under tho old ngo disability order of March 15. 1904. It nlso shows that 053 pensions pen-sions of $72 a month havo been Increased to 5100 a month on account of total blindness, blind-ness, under the act of April 8. 1901. Thero aro pending only 15,255 original claims of survivors of the Civil war, nnd tho CommlsiGOner gives assurances that they will bo adjudicated ns speedily as possible. There arc still flvo pensioners on account ac-count of the War of the Revolution, one of them being Esther S. Damon, tho widow of a Revolutionary soldier, and the other four daughters of such soldiers. Mrs. Damon Is 91 years old. |
