Burns, president and manager of the Portland mino, in a damage suit which Burns will bring against Gov. Jmes H. Peabody, Adjt.-Gen. Sherman M. Bell and the State of Colorado for 5100,000 for the closing of the Portland mine by the military. Attorneys Richardson and Hawkins, acting for Charles H; Moyer, president of the Western Federation of miners, are drafting the papers ln a suit for 5BO.0O0 damages which Moyer is to llle against Gov. Peabody, Adjt.-Gen. Bell and the State, of Colorado. Moyer's action is bas-d on a charge of false and illegal Imprisonment by the military authorities, actlnjr under the proclamation of martial law for San Miguel county.
