Show CLAIMS DAMAGES FROM OFFICIALS George E. Lyon Brings Suits for Largo Amounts Against tho New Officers of Murray. For allied false nrreet and Imprisonment Imprison-ment George E. Lyon yesterday brought wult in the District court against City Marshal Mausp, Justice of the Peace John P. McOmle and Charles Brown of Murray to recover damages for 57500. 1 Two separate causes arc contained in the plaintllfs complaint. He alleges that on December 12, 1903, he was arrested ar-rested at Murray and Imprisoned for one day on a pretended charge of obtaining ob-taining property under false pretenses. By reason of the ald imprisonment the plaintiff claims damages for 32500. In the other cauBO of action Lyon alleges that In March, 1904, he was arrested ar-rested at Ephraim and imprisoned at Murray for .seven days on a charge similar! to tho one mentioned. Tho plaintiff charges that at the time ho was arretted by Marshal Mauss he woh in his home, with his family and among his friends; that he .was compelled to submit to the Indignity of being: handcuffed hand-cuffed and kept so during- the journey to Murray. Ho further claims that his good name and fame were injured by the newspaper reports bf hia arrest, and asks for 55000 more. |
