Show ; PLANS ON FOOT FOR ! A SUMMER SCHOOL I The State summer normal- institute 1 will open one week after the close oE the regular school session and continue for two weeks. Dr. J. H. Vincent, the noted originator of the Chautauqua , school system, has been engaged and will deliver a series of lectures during the session. Miss Alice P. Norton of the same institution has also been engaged en-gaged to deliver a series of lectures on domestic science. At present she Is the director of the Chautauqua department of domestic science and home economic. econ-omic. Arrangements have practically been completed for securing the services ser-vices of Miss Jessie Lee Newlands, who has acted for the last ten years as Prof. S. H. Clark's assistant at the University of Chicago. She is regarded as one oC the most expert teachers of reading in the United States and hi especially adapted for teaching reading in the grades. ' Dr. Stewart is now busily engaged in arranging the sunnhcr school catalogue and announces that It will be out within the next week. He has been receiving constant Inquiries from teachers ail over tho Slato and reports that exceptionally excep-tionally great interest is being manifested mani-fested all over the State. The managements manage-ments anticipates an attendance ranging rang-ing anywhere between GOO and 1000 teachers. |
