Show UGLY FIRE AT LEHI; GOOD DEPARTMENT WOPvK Special to The Tribune. DEHT, March 19. About 1 o'clock last night fire was discovered In a small building adjoining tho city hall, and for a time threatened the destruction of the city hall and the opera-house and business blocks adjoining. The fire department de-partment responded and had the conflagration con-flagration under control In a short time. The building in which- the fire originated origin-ated and which was used as a storeroom store-room was destroyed and the city hall damaged about ?50. Several barrels of electric light globes, election booths and other material were burned, the total loss reaching probably $250 or $300. The origin of the fire is a mystery and Sheriff Harmon la over from Provo trying try-ing to solve it. There is no stove In tho room, and NIghtwatchman John D. NOTES. Messrs. Otto Hudson, and S. J. Taylor have sold to tho United States Smelting and Refining company their limestone quarries at Rush valley, near Twelve-Mile Twelve-Mile pass. The Utah County Light and Power company Is again supplying the people with lights. For three days the towns In the north end of Utah county have been without power because of a break In the power company's pipe line about half a mile above the power plant. The break was caused by an immense landslide land-slide which crushed the pipe line. Tom Webb and Tom Austin shipped five more carB of mutton yesterday- to Eastern markets. Theso sheep have been fattened on beet pulp and are in prime condition. E. C. Merrlhew and R. FJ. Steele are having cement sidewalks laid in front of their places of business on Main street. - - |
