Tho Publlo Lands Commltieo on Monday Mon-day will Introduce a bill providing that now landa bo taken In place of lands on I forest reservoa, to bo hereafter credited. Tho Government will pay money directly di-rectly for such lands. Tho bill will also provfdo that in the future aoloctlon of lieu lands shall be confined to land of llko charactor and quality to thoso surrendered sur-rendered and the scleotlons of such lands ehall be confined to States and Territories In which the lands leased aro relinquished. Tho Secretary of the Interior has transmitted trans-mitted to tho Senate Commlttoo on Publlo Pub-llo Lands a draft of a bill providing for tho disposition of landn released from withdrawal for forest reserve purposes.
