Show COIOIANEER SEWELL GIVEN" A NAVAL FUNERAL VALLEJO, Cal., March 19. Funeral cervices over the remains of the late Commander William E. Sewoll, former Governor of Guam, were held In St Peter's chapel on Mare Island today. The ceremonies Included a salute and full naval honors. The remains were conveyed, to the chapel under escort of a company of sailors from the Supply and Independence and two companies of marines, all under command com-mand of Lieut. Commander Glcnnon. A detail of eight men from the Supply acted as body bearers. The pall bearers were Admiral McCalla, Col. Pope, Commanders Dixon, Bull and Moore and Lieut . Graham. During the pas-eage pas-eage of the cortege from the hospital to the chapek seventeen minute guns were fired from the Independence. The body will He In state at the hospital until the early part of next week, when it will be taken East. |
